Regional Charitable Fund of Protection and Help to Patients with mental diseases is a self-supporting social organization in Vinnitsa region.Citizens and organizations of Ukraine and other countries can participate in the activities of the Fund.

The Fund maintains close contacts with government bodies and social organizations which assist social and labour rehabilitation of patients with mental diseases.

The Fund has been organized on the basis of regional mental hospital N2. The aims of the Fund are to provide help to patients with mental disease, to improve their financial position, to assist their social and labour rehabilitation, to protect their rights and interests in state and social organizations.

- to make government bodies and community pay attention to the problems of patients with mental diseases;

- to assist patients with mental diseases in getting jobs and to create for that state self-supporting institutions, organizations, enterprises according to the state laws;

- to cooperate with international organizations in sharing experience (problems of social and labour rehabilitation, introduction of new methods of diagnosis and treatment);

- to access means for the improvement of patients’ nourishment, providing them with clothes, footwear, purchasing indespensable drugs.

- carries out in accordance with the law charity raffles, concerts, sporting competitions and shows, exhibitions and sale of works of literature and art;

- cooperates with government bodies, social organizations, educational institutions, political organizations, art unions and religious organizations on the questions of allotment of help to patients with mental disease;

- cooperates with mass media;

- organizes self-supporting organizations and institutions;

- informs the bodies of guardianship and trusteeship about persons who need guardianship and care, assists institutions for mental diseases in work and their carrying out the duties of guardians and trustees of this category of persons, controls the work of these institutions before appointment of guardians by the bodies of guardianship and trusteeship;

- applies to the bodies of guardianship and trusteeship to change guardians and trustees in case of their careless discharge of duties;

- maintains direct international contacts and connections, makes corresponding agreements;

- assist relatives of patients, their guardians and trustees in getting juridical help;

- performs other kinds of juridical help to relatives of patients, their guardians and trustees;

- performs other actions which do not contradict the existing legislation.
